    Air Care Heating & Cooling completed a gas furnace-to-heat pump conversion at a residential property in Los Gatos, CA 95032. The homeowner had a heating-only system and wanted to upgrade to an electric heat pump while taking advantage of available rebates. Installers Juan and Max removed the existing gas furnace and installed a new Bryant heat pump system, providing both heating and cooling. The existing duct system was correctly sized for the new equipment, so it was retained and sealed, and a new 220V electrical circuit was installed. Our team also assisted the homeowner with the rebate paperwork.

    An elderly couple in Mountain View, CA 94040 contacted Air Care Heating & Cooling after their older furnace stopped working. They wanted to replace the failed furnace but preferred to stay with a traditional gas furnace rather than convert their home to a heat pump system. Air Care installed a new Ultra-Low NOx furnace. During the replacement, the team also addressed an airflow issue with the previous installation: the old furnace had the return air connected through the side of the furnace, which reduced the available return airflow and contributed to louder system operation. Adolph and Chris raised the new furnace, built a new platform, and installed a larger return-air opening to allow the system to draw air more effectively. The homeowners noticed an immediate improvement in operating noise and were very happy with how much quieter the new system was. The project passed the City of Mountain View permit inspection on the first inspection.

During diagnosis of the Mitsubishi heat pump, he found a rodent nest inside the outdoor unit, a chewed thermistor and a shorted circuit board. Air Care ordered the parts, replaced the damaged components, cleaned out the debris and tested the system.
